Our Impact

School Programs

Our signature program is the Doctor Vegetable “Shop Crops not Box Tops” program that we run through local elementary schools. With a fun and engaging kick-off assembly for students, we highlight all of the amazing things that fruits and vegetables can do for our bodies. Then we run a month long fundraiser where students can earn money for their schools by eating more fruits and vegetables. We were inspired to create healthy version of the longstanding General Mills “Box Tops for Education.” Each year to date we have raised more money for the school than the year before! Our goal is to expand this to more and more schools every year. We collaborate with schools to implement engaging and educational programs that highlight the benefits of vegetables. From interactive workshops to garden projects, we aim to make learning about vegetables exciting and enjoyable.

Nutritional Education

There are many programs dedicated to inspiring healthy eating habits in children. We aim to make this content enjoyable and entertaining for kids, by utilizing popular songs, YouTube video trends, and other content to inspire engagement. Through fun and informative content, we aim to create a positive mindset around incorporating vegetables into daily meals.

Community Engagement

Doctor Vegetable actively engages with local communities to raise awareness about the importance of a plant-forward diet for children. Sponsoring local educational fundraisers and participating in many community events we aim to foster a supportive environment for healthy choices.

Advocacy and Policy Influence

Once we have the buy in form the children, a long-term goal would be to help influence policies that support and promote healthy eating habits in schools. By collaborating with policymakers and stakeholders, we will strive to create an environment where vegetables are readily accessible and appealing to children.
